The Best Hair & Nail Looks From NYFW Spring/Summer 2022
New York Fashion Week has come to a close, but we’re still reeling over the beauty looks after a long year inside. Designers embraced the more is more concept, with hair that featured extreme amounts of gel for wet-looking strands, exaggerated beaded braids and all the volume anyone could ever want. Don’t just take our word for it! Scroll down to see the boldest looks from Spring/Summer 2022 shows!
1. Sleek, Wet Hair
Slick strands, encased in copious amounts of hair gel and hairspray graced multiple runways this season throwing us back to Kim K’s 2019 Met Gala hair. Stylists further elevated the look away from “just stepped out of a pool” chic by by pulling hair into updos, using crystal accents or applying so much product it looked stiff enough to cut you.

3. Braids For Days
Every year there’s always a braid moment and this season didn’t disappoint. The classic three-strand twist was incorporated into sleek updos, used as classic box braids, neat cornrows and accented with every type of hair bobble you can think of.

4. Gemstone-Inspired Nails
Nothing says glam quite like a little sparkle, and this year’s nail artists got the memo. Rhinestones popped against muted manicures, while colorful, opalescent hues made a subtler statement.

5. ‘60s Bouffants, Beehives & Pompadours
One thing Sixties hair will always give is height and volume, so hairdressers had a lot of room to play while recreating their take on the door-scraping looks. Some styles were subtle and lightly teased, reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast At Tiffany’s,” while others decided to follow in the footsteps of “Hairspray” with over-the-top, eye-catching wigs!

6. Futuristic Hair
What makes a look reminiscent to an episode of “Star Trek”? Maybe it’s the sharp sections, followed by gravity defying ponytails or the intricate space bun twists? Whatever the case, we’re here for hair that takes us away from now and drops us in a galaxy far, far away.

7. The Middle Part
The drama really is in the details and something that kept popping up was the middle part. It’s hard to think of the way a person parts their hair as a trend, but in a world that favors hair swooping to the left or the right, not choosing a side seems almost taboo.
