Dear Clients, This Is What Your Hairdresser Is Really Thinking…
Dear clients, we love you (we really, really do!) … but there are some things we wish you knewlike the importance of boundaries, how texting ‘almost there!’ doesn’t make up for you being consistently late and the simple fact that drugstore products are ruining our hard work. 😅 That’s why we’ve rounded up some of our best client funnies, a few ‘smh’ moments and some downright relatable memes to get you through those tough days behind the chair. Plus, some important things every client should know.

1. PLEASE Invest In Stylist-Recommended Products
Would you wash your hair with dish soap? You might as well if you’re using over-the-counter products that cause damage, breakage and ruin your haircolor (aka our hard work!). “The more you invest in your hair, the more your hairstylist invests in you,” shares Lo Wheeler Davis (@lo_wheelerdavis). We know your hair better than anyone, so trust us. If you’re going to spend $200 dollars on balayage, it’s worth the investment to use the proper maintenance products to keep that fresh and healthy glow.

2. Be On Time!
We get it. We’ve all been there … BUT the later you show up, the less time we have to make your dream hair happen. Oh, and if you’re going to come in late because you stopped at Starbucks on the way, grab us one too. 😂

3. Stop Playing Hairdresser 💇🏼
“Trying to speak in hairdresser terms just causes confusion,” shares Lo. “Show us pictures of examples of what you DO and DON’T want. We’ll take it from there!”

4. It’s Okay For Your Stylist To Not Be Available 24/7
“Being a hairstylist is a lifestyle with only about one percent of us finding a way to balance our professional and personal lives,” shares Gina Bianca (@iamginabianca), who stresses the importance of setting boundaries outside of the salon. “Please know we will respond, but maybe not right away. Please don’t be upset if we set boundaries that say ‘Hey there, I’ll respond as soon as I’m back at work’ or ‘Hey, can you contact the salon?'”

5. We Are Hairdressers, Not Copy Machines
If you bring in a picture of supermodel Gigi Hadid, we can’t promise you’re going to leave our chair looking EXACTLY like Gigi Hadid! What we can promise: We will have a thorough consultation, then use our creativity and skills to create a custom look for you that reflects your inspiration pics.

7. You Can’t Change Your Haircolor As Often As Kylie Jenner
Three words: That’s a wig 👏 And if it’s not, there’s a 100 percent chance that celebrity hairdresser is spending 13+ hours doing a platinum root touch-up after a very long dark to light transformation. Have patience and we promise we’ll get you to your dream hair!

8. Leave A Positive Review!
“This shows us you appreciate our hard work,” shares Lo. “We will thank you you with an extra long scalp massage, maybe even a conditioning treatment!”

9. Bring Your Kids Into The Salon? Consider This…
Are your kids receiving services in the salon? If not, Lo recommends leaving them at home—especially, during those three-hour color appointments. They will hate being cooped up and might create a stressful and distracting environment for others in the salon. Before you bring them to your next appointment, tap here to read what other hairdressers have to say.
