Using an alternative virgin application, apply Formula B to all the hair in section 2 and the remaining hair in section 1. Note: Use 30-volume at the new growth and 40-volume from midlengths to ends. Process, rinse, shampoo and perform the appropriate Aveda Botanical Therapy hair treatment. Note: If performing the color dipping application, condition the hair instead of performing a Botanical Therapy Hair Treatment.
For the color dipping application: Gather each quadrant into a lose ponytail at the bottom hairline as illustrated in the previous step. Secure the 4 ponytails with hair elastics. Working quadrant by quadrant, dip the end of the ponytail into a haircolor bowl, immersing the hair into Formula C to the point where you want the haircolor to start. Keep dipping the hair until you achieve the desired level of deposit. Note: To achieve a gradual, soft-to-strong effect, dip less of the hair into the formula each time.
