PRAVANA Announces SHOW US YOUR ARTISTRY Contest
Ten years after its start, PRAVANA’s annual SHOW US YOUR VIVIDS contest is transforming in 2019 with NEW categories and MORE chances to win in celebration of hair artistry.
Contest Deets
- Entry submission opens August 1, 2019 at 12:01am PST and closes Sept. 30 at 11:59pm PST. (Note: All entries must include required entry materials AND agree to contest terms and conditions.)
- Preliminary Top Finalists will be announced on PRAVANA’s Instagram October 7, 2019.
- SHOW US YOUR ARTISTRY contest winners will be announced LIVE October 27, 2019 at the PRAVANA Announcement Party in Los Angeles. Winner announcements will be broadcasted live on PRAVANA’s Facebook and Instagram.
- Required entry materials for all seven categories:
- 1 front-facing image of the model before the color application.
- 3 finished model images—front, profile and back images are preferred.
- Completed entry form fields, including description of entry inspiration, color formula, technique and products used.

Category 5: Star Student

Note: This category is open to U.S. registered cosmetology students only.
Category 6: Video
Calling all content creators! It’s your turn to shine! Show us how creative you can get with video content highlighting the professional salon industry. This could feature things like your color entry, the PRAVANA brand or industry relatable topics. This content is open to YOUR interpretation. Prizes include:
- $300 PRAVANA product gift voucher
- Entry video feature on PRAVANA’s YouTube channel
- Social media feature by PRAVANA
- Exclusive sponsor swag bag
- 2019 SHOW US YOUR ARTISTRY winner trophy
Note: Entry must include at the minimum a 60-second video highlighting the professional salon industry (iPhone video footage is acceptable).
Category 7: Fan Fave
Welcome to the judging panel! Show us who YOU pick to win across all categories. All approved entries will be uploaded and available to view at pravana.com. The entry with the most public votes on September 30, 2019 at 11:59pm PST will win the 2019 SHOW US YOUR ARTISTRY Fan Fave category. Prizes include:
- $300 PRAVANA product gift voucher

Note: Employees of PRAVANA and PRAVANA COLLECTIVE members are not eligible to participate in this category.
Preliminary Top Finalists
Three preliminary top finalists will be selected from each category, excluding the Fan Fave category, and will then be in the running to win the SHOW US YOUR ARTISTRY Grand Prize. Top finalists will be announced on PRAVANA’s Instagram October 7, 2019. Prizes include:

Note: Entry must include minimum one ChromaSilk VIVIDS, ChromaSilk VIVIDS Neons, ChromaSilk VIVIDS Pastels, ChromaSilk, ChromaSilk VIVIDS Everlasting, ChromaSilk ColorLush, ChromaSilk Express Tones, PURE LIGHT Ultra Lightener, PURE LIGHT Power Lightener, PURE LIGHT Crème Lightener or PURE LIGHT Balayage Lightener.
Contest Eligibility:
- Open to U.S. licensed professionals or registered cosmetology students.
- Any/all additional lightening and hair color products used must be PRAVANA.
- All styling products used must be PRAVANA.
- Submitted entry files must be high-resolution, stylized and finished model images.
- Please do not submit photos taken from your stylist chair.
- Please do not include a watermark on submitted images.
- Grid style or mirrored images will not be accepted.
- Light retouching is acceptable. Highly filtered and retouched images will only be accepted at PRAVANA’s discretion.
- Entrants must be a licensed professional or registered cosmetology student of at least 18 years old. Proof of cosmetology license or school registration will be required for selected winner.
- Models under the age of 18 must provide a digital copy of handwritten parental consent to socialmedia@pravana.com.
Note: Requirements may vary per category.
Judging
- Once your entry has been uploaded, it will be under approval from PRAVANA. If your entry meets all required guidelines, you will receive an email from PRAVANA and your entry will be included under ‘ENTRIES’ at pravana.com. Please allow 5 to 7 business days for the approval process.
- All approved entries will be uploaded and available to view at pravana.com. The entry with the most public votes September 30, 2019 at 11:59pm PST will win the 2019 SHOW US YOUR ARTISTRY Fan Fave category. Only one vote per website visitor will be accepted.
- 2019 SHOW US YOUR ARTISTY contest winners will be selected by PRAVANA and behindthechair.com.
- Winning entries will be chosen based on creativity, technique, execution and overall impact.
