The Story Behind évolis Professional
After she turned 40, Maria noticed her hair started to thin. As a scientist, she began searching for solutions for her hair loss but didn’t have much luck—until she took a trip to Japan. While there, Maria encountered technology that uses naturally sourced ingredients that block a hair cycle regulatory protein called FGF5.
She started using the FGF5 blocking products and after a few months, Maria was so impressed with her hair’s transformation that she decided to acquire the company and évolis Professional was born shortly after.
How It Works
The hair is constantly renewing itself, occurring in three stages—the anagen phase, the catagen phase and the telogen phase. While the underlying causes of hair loss are varied and complex, things such as hormones, genetics, changes in diet, stress and age can upset the hair cycle process and lead to hair cycle shortening.
évolis Professional scientists developed technology that targets hair cycle dysfunction by helping hair stay in the growth phase (anagen phase) for longer, which is achieved by blocking FGF5. By doing so, hair stays growing for longer and the hair cycle is restored to its natural length.
