Four Ways To Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month From JCPenney Salons
One in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. That’s why JCPenney salons are doing everything they can to support the American Cancer Society and patients undergoing cancer treatment during the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Check out four ways JCPenney salons and stylists are supporting breast cancer patients and survivors.
The stylists at JCPenney salons are empowered to rally around important causes like Breast Cancer Awareness Month, encouraged at the top level. Plus, JCPenney stylists get paid to take technical education classes, and full-time hairdressers receive medical, dental, paid time off and a 401k. Plus, they give you bonuses of up to $1,000 based on performance. Keep reading to learn more about how JCPenney inspires hairdressers to support the causes they love.
1. Checkout donations
Throughout the month, JCPenney salon customers can make a donation at checkout to the American Cancer Society. They also can enter into a raffle for a chance to win a gift basket featuring tools, brushes and clothing. There will be a raffle winner at each JCPenney salon—more than 750 locations nationwide!
2. Donating a percentage of retail sales
For two days in October, JCPenney salons will host a “Sales for Hope” event, donating 20 percent of retail sales to the American Cancer Society up to $50,000.
3. Pampering patients
During the “Sales for Hope” event, JCPenney salon stylists will also visit American Cancer Society Hope Lodges—special accomodations for cancer patients and their caregivers, where they can stay for free when receiving treatment away from home. JCPenney stylists will pamper patients at Hope Lodges communities across the country.
4. Caring for survivors
On Oct. 21, JCPenney salon and Sephora inside JCPenney associates will host “Brave Beauty” classes in select markets, inviting breast cancer survivors to learn soothing skincare routines, beauty tips to help with the appearance of brows and lashes, scarf and wig styling and how to manage hair regrowth during and after treatment.
