HOW-TO STEPS

    Divide the hair into 4 sections.

    From the highest point of the head/highest point of the ear.

    Release the contour line with a horizontal parting.

    Position your comb and shears parallel to the parting at the natural fall without tension.

    Start sculpting in the middle of the nape towards the sides.  Keep the head straight up and sculpt following the natural fall.

    Continue working along the horizontal line while following the curve of the head.

    To create an inactivated texture, position your shears parallel to the ground.

    Working from the widest part of the section, you control this section between the fingers.

    Use your previous sculpting line as your guide.

    Use the tip of your shears to avoid applying pressure above the ear.

    Control the first section in the natural fall by using comb control.

    Comb the hair in the natural fall distribution and cut a horizontal line.

    Repeat the same technique on the other side of the head.

    Use the fine-toothed side of the comb for a nice and even distribution.

    Here the fringe is sectioned horizontally.  Use the comb control technique to create the formline.
