When Callie Baldwin, an Independent Artist at The Mod Hue in Tampa, FL, got a visit from her most color-daring client, she knew she was in for another creative color jump. “This client in particular is my fun girl,” she says. “We have colored her every spectrum of the rainbow and have been on a journey of taking her platinum from dark violet to achieve petal pink.” And like most of you know, this sort of journey is definitely not a short one. You and your client need to be all in. “The before pictures are from multiple balayage/highlight combo sessions to achieve the lightest blonde possible,” Callie adds, “I left her gold more towards the root for a rose gold dimension.” Here’s how Callie took her client’s dark purple to a flawless rose gold!

8 weeks prior to this color appointment, Callie took the dark violet out of her client’s hair using Formula A, foiling/balayaging her entire head.

Highlight using Formula A, foiling the entire head, but keeping a consistent rooty look.

Apply formula B all over to dry/towel dried hair and process for 20 mins.

Rinse, shampoo and towel dry.

Section one inch out of the hairline and apply Formula C from roots to around 1 ½ to 2 inches down.

Depending on how rooty you’d like you look, process for 10-20 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and condition before styling as desired.
