“The idea was to create something that looked a little bit undone,” says Stephanie.

She parted the hair from ear to ear, pulling the underneath portion back and swirling into a bun. Next, Stephanie added the hair from the front, twirling it piece by piece into the bun in the back, securing with bobby pins.

To create more “undone” effect, Stephanie pulled pieces from the front of Anna’s hair out of the bun and curled them just a bit so they fell above her collarbones.

Stephanie used a selection of Davines products:
 
The styling began with Anna's favorites from Davines, the LOVE Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner.
 
From there she liberally applied Davines For Wizards No. 3 Universal Mattering Mousse. “This gave Anna's hair body and volume, but left it soft and shiny. It's made for medium hold and long-lasting control, so I knew she wouldn't have to worry about the style holding throughout the night,” says Stephanie.
 
After parting Anna's hair and pinning it up, leaving some loose tendrils in the front, Stephanie applied Davines For Wizards No. 1 Finest Oil Non Oil. It added a soft definition that helped eliminate the static effect and tamed the flyaways.
 
Finally, Stephanie finished by spraying Anna’s hair with Davines For Wizards No. 9 Structuring Mist for medium hold and high shine.

Up in the Air star and Golden Globe nominee Anna Kendrick wore a super sophisticated dress at the big event, so it was important to keep her hair equally alluring. Stephanie Hobgood from Trim Salon in Venice Beach, CA was on the case, and using the ever-beautiful actress Diane Kruger as inspiration, she created a classic chignon for Anna to perfectly balance her one-shouldered gown.
