At BTC, we’re all about the art of the collaboration. And this stunning color melt from Vancouver-based stylists Chris Weber (@chrisweberhair) and Ali Eskridge (@alieskridge) is a prime example of the kind of magic that happens when two talented stylists get together! Here’s how Ali and Chris gave their client the balayage of her dreams.

“After going over the consultation together, it was decided that working back and front would be the easiest way to work and would achieve the most balanced look,” says Ali. “The key to working with two stylists is communication. Everything from the type of weave to how high the painting would go is important to discuss to create cohesion.”

HOW-TO STEPS

  • 1

Highlight in the front with Formula A, using foils and a small weave and paying close attention to the hairline and parting. Hand-paint the hair between the foils with Formula B, using a gentle application with lots of dry brushing to create a soft blend.

  • 2

Hand-paint Formula B in the back, starting with heavy saturation to create pops of color, then switch to lighter saturation toward the top of the head to keep the color soft.

  • 3

Wrap each section in balayage wrap. Process for 30 minutes with no heat, then rinse.

  • 4

Apply Smartbond Protocol Step 2 and process for 10 minutes. Rinse and towel-dry the hair.
