HOW-TO STEPS

  • 1

Lighten the whole head using foils, starting with Formula A and gradually increasing the developer volume until reaching 38-volume in the last foil.

  • 2

Rinse and treat with Olaplex No.2 at the bowl after monitoring the integrity of the hair closely.

  • 3

Shadow-tone at the root (about 1 inch out) using Formula B.

  • 4

Briana’s client had a lot of warmth in the midlengths, so she toned with Formula C, leaving it on for about 15 minutes.

  • 5

Apply Formula D from midlengths to ends, and process for about 10 minutes. “My client loves the brightness without looking too gray or silver, so we watched the toner closely as it processed,” says Briana.

  • 6

Treat for five minutes with Wella Professionals Service Post Color Treatment.

  • 7

Briana finished with a round layered trim, with the layers focused around the face.
