Inspired by Belgian surrealist painter Rene Magritte, Lucie Doughty messes with our heads (and hers) by questioning reality and juxtaposing everyday objects in unusual context.  Solid fashions anchor the cloud-like hair textures, which are expanded to beyond-real proportions, and the overall effect is floaty and dreamy.

“The images are a play on texture communicated through an editorial story of a girl trying to find her way in life,” says Doughty. “I wanted to communicate the story in the feel of Magritte’s artwork which often illustrates the juxtaposition of everyday objects in unusual context.”
