We’re always looking for a balayage cheat, so when we spotted this technique by Leah Freeman, L’ANZA Healing Haircare Global Color Director and owner of Fuse Salon in Frankfort, Ill., we had to take a closer look. How do you use a plastic roller in a balayage retouch service?! Just watch in this exclusive video!

We caught up with Leah and the entire L’ANZA team at the the L’ANZA B.I.G. Event in Cancun, Mexico. For this look, Leah used L’ANZA Powder Decolorizer and 30-volume developer. Watch the video and keep scrolling to see the finished color! But first, a couple color tips from Leah on when to use Powder or Cream Decolorizer:

• Powder Decolorizer: Use this product to achieve more lift, more quickly, on Level 6 or darker hair. Also good for permanent color remover.
• Cream Decolorizer: Use this product to achieve slower lift on Level 6 or lighter hair. Also good for direct dye removal.
