To her 1.1 million followers, Victoria’s Secret model Devon Windsor (@devwindsor) is gorgeous and glam…and she has her hairdressers to thank for keeping her signature blonde locks as healthy as possible! Moroccanoil® Artistic Director Kevin Hughes (@hairbyeleven) and Moroccanoil® Global Ambassador Briana Cisneros (@brianacisneros) spilled the deets on how they amped up Devon’s hair for the launch of Moroccanoil’s Color Complete Collection—the brand’s first foray into haircolor care and a major five-step process that can extend color life and vibrancy by 100 percent. The Moroccanoil® Color Care Collection

“The collection is the first of its kind with advanced proprietary technologies to combat all daily sources of color loss—including chemical damage, mechanical damage, oxidation and heat styling—which all affect color-treated hair’s richness and vibrancy,” Briana shared. It’s the first time Moroccanoil® has entered the color care space—and it’s so exciting! “We’re delving into the world of haircolor and able to offer our consumers something that will keep their hair in optimal condition without losing color vibrancy,” Kevin said.

The collection includes:

1. ChromaTech PRIME: To be used in the salon before a color service, this first step helps to increase color deposit and equalize porosity for more even results, plus it soothes the scalp to minimize discomfort during the service.

2. ChromaTech POST: To be used in the salon after a color service to seal in color, featuring the new COLORLINK™ technology that creates cross-links in the hair’s keratin structure to trap color while forming a protective shield.

3 + 4. Color Continue Shampoo & Conditioner: A take-home step that also features COLORLINK™ to continuously repair and restore the hair and provide intense nourishment and improved hair quality, resulting in superior color retention.

5. Protect & Prevent Spray: The final step for the client’s use at home, this spray provides max prevention from color spray and brassiness, acting as a leave-in conditioner and shield that absorbs damaging UV rays while neutralizing free radicals.

The Consultation

“It is very difficult to maintain healthy shiny hair as a model!” Briana shared about Devon’s hair. “Moroccanoil® Color Complete Collection was able to restore her compromised hair while protecting it from any further damage in the future. Not only chemical damage, but damage caused from excessive styling and exposure to the outdoor elements!”

With Devon about to leave for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai, Briana and Kevin had a lot of work to do. “She was very easygoing and trusting with us,” Kevin said. “She was surprisingly very open to our input as long as we stayed within parameters.”

Briana and Devon discussed specific color and tonal direction and agreed on something that didn’t look silver but had very little warmth. “A very balanced blonde with more of a pearly tone,” Briana said. 

To achieve that, Briana used her own color correction technique involving babylights and balayage throughout Devon’s entire head to even out the existing blonde and get the max amount of lift with minimal damage. Briana also balayaged Devon’s front hairline at the bowl for a seamless effect.

The Care

After her fresh color, Kevin dusted Devon’s ends and trimmed her layers to blend seamlessly, then sent her to Shanghai with the three at-home steps of the Color Complete Collection.
