3 Balayage How-Tos + The Healthy Secret They Have In Common
3 Balayage How-Tos + The Healthy Secret They Have In Common
Multidimensional haircolor is never a one-step process, and it almost always requires multiple appointments. Our point? You NEED a system in place to maintain your client’s investment and your hard work.
BTC team member and master of dimensional color Catherine Long (@catherinelovescolor) has one, and she’s sharing her secrets with our BTC fam! While her coloring methods may change—she uses balayage, lowlights, root shadows and glazes to create dimensional end results—she always seals in her formulas with Moroccanoil’s new Color Complete Collection to keep her client’s color looking fresh, shiny and healthy between appointments.
We grabbed three of her prettiest Insta posts, plus her formulas and steps for creating that stunning color! Check it all out below.
Ice Blonde—Get The Look
1. Start with Moroccanoil® Color Complete ChromaTech Prime to prep the hair and open the cuticle before the lightening service.
2. Next, apply Oligo Professional Cool Toned Blonde Blacklight Lightening Powder + Extra Blonde + 20-volume developer + Olaplex No. 1 to the mids and ends. Babylight the roots using the same formula, but with 30-volume to create an icier end result.
3. If needed, do a stand-alone Olaplex treatment before glazing. Then, apply a soft shadow root using an 8N + a splash of 7P, and finish by glazing with 9P + 9T and clear.
4. To lock in the color and to help prevent brassiness (especially when working with blondes!), use the Moroccanoil® Color Complete ChromaTech Post.
5. Finish with the Moroccanoil® Color Continue Shampoo and Conditioner. Then, style with Moroccanoil® Color Complete Protect & Prevent Spray, Root Boost and Hydrating Styling Cream.
Know This: Moroccanoil’s Color Complete Collection is the brand’s first foray into haircolor care and can extend color life and vibrancy by 100 percent!
