2019 Grammy Awards Nail Trends: Nude Shades & Lots of Sparkle
This year’s Grammy Awards was full of highs (congrats Cardi!), lows (Drake’s cut-off acceptance speech) and of course, nudes. Wait, what? Yep, nude shades were in the spotlight this year as the go-to trend for nails while some artists—ahem, Dua Lipa—went all out with sparkly sets. We hunted through Instagram to collect some of our favorite looks of the night and we’re sharing them all below!
1. Dua Lipa
Celebrity manicurist @kimmiekyees created this custom manicure for the Best New Artist winner and we think this set is worthy of its own award!
2. Anna Kendrick
Nail artist @michellesaundersjames was inspired by the actress and Grammy presenter’s Ralph and Russo feather dress and used a small art brush and essie shades lace is more, first view, pink diamond and no place like chrome to create this chrome-feathered design.
3. Lady Gaga
The “A Star is Born” actress donned a classic black manicure but nail artist @mihonails topped this black shade with some sparkle to accentuate the singer’s silver gown.
4. Cardi B
Cardi B and her go-to nail artist @nailson7th aka Jenny Bui went subtle for this year’s Grammy Awards. Cardi sported a nude polish named Machu Peach-U from OPI GelColor topped with Swarovski crystals (200 of them!!! OK, not so subtle.)
5. Jennifer Lopez
Jenny from the Block sported an ombré chrome mani courtesy of celebrity manicurist @tombachik using OPI shades Let Me Bayou a Drink, Arigato from Tokyo and OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can.
6. Bebe Rexha
To create a manicure that matched Bebe’s gorgeous gown, @barbarawarner used Big Apple Red from OPI and topped it with OPI Chrome Effects for a subtle shimmer.
7. Camila Cabello
Camila went classic for her Grammy’s mani. Nail artist @jolene.b.nails used a light essie shade for a clean, nude nail look.
8. Andra Day
Celebrity Manicurist @kaitmosh created this leopard print manicure using OPI shades Let Me Bayou a Drink, Lavendare Courage and Tinker, Thinker, Winker with gemstones for some added sparkle.
