Redken Big Bang by Leah Freeman

Finding ways to give her inspiration a boost isn’t hard for Leah. “As an artist, I definitely draw inspiration from fashion and art. HOW-TO STEPS

    Divide the head into 4 quadrants. Next, start halfway between the high point and front hairline, take a diagonal parting to the outside corners of each eye.

    Starting in the nape, take 1” diagonalsections and comb hair straight down into naturalfall. Use your comb to hold hair in place. Keep the comb horizontal and point cut. Continue to work your way up to the top of the crown.

    Unclip front quadrants. Take 1” horizontal sections and comb down into natural fall. Place comb in horizontally and point cut using a small guide from the back section. Work your way up the section until complete. Repeat on the opposite side.

    Unclip triangle section. Comb hair down into natural fall and point cut just at or below the eyebrows

    3 scoops (33 g) Up To 7 De-Dusted Lightener
    3 oz. (90 ml) 30 volume Pro-oxide Cream Developer

    1 oz. (30 ml) 03NB Mocha Java Shades EQ
    1 oz. (30 ml) Shades EQ Processing Solution

    Glaze

    1 ½ oz. (45 ml) 05RV Sangria Shades EQ
    ½ oz. (15 ml) 000 Crystal Clear Shades EQ
    2 oz. (60 ml) Shades EQ Processing Solution

    Create a triangle-shaped section in the fringe area starting with a straight line from the outside corner of the left eye extending to center. From that point, create a zigzag to the center of the right eye. Connect the points with a zigzag line at the hairline. Isolate the remaining hair.

    Stand to the side and take a slice. Place onto a foil and apply Formula 1 to the mid-shaft and ends. Turn the brush vertically and blur the formula toward the scalp area. Continue to take slices in back-to-back foils and complete the section. Process at room temperature for up to 50 minutes or until reaching a level 9. Rinse and shampoo with Extreme. Dry the hair completely before Step 2.

    Re-section the hair as in Step 1. Take a slice and place onto a foil. Apply Formula 2 to the scalp area. Immediately apply Formula 3 to the mid-shaft and ends. Take a clean brush and gently blur the colors together to create a soft transition. Cover with a foil and repeat with back-to-back slices until the section is complete

    Apply Formula 1 to all hair remaining outside the foils. Direct the hair away from the face for a neat application.

    Process at room temperature for 20 minutes. Rinse the outside completely before removing the foils. Shampoo with Color Extend.

    Apply guts 10 volume spray foam at the roots and thickening lotion 06 body builder through the mid-lengths and ends. Blow-dry with a Denman™ type brush for a smooth finish

    Isolate a horseshoe section at the top of the head. Just below the section at the parietal ridge, mist with fabricate 03 heat-active texturizer and use a mini-crimper to build volume and directional movement at the root. On the mid-lengths through the ends, use a flat iron to create directional texture.
