On The Set: Leighton Meester’s Gotham Cover How-To

The Gossip Girl’s are keeping Charles “Chad” Baker Strahan busy!  Recently he was tapped for tress duty for Leighton Meester at her cover shoot for Gotham magazine.  Chad has no problem coming up with an idea for her look.

“The inspiration for me with Leighton is her character Blair is always looking so prim and proper that I’m always thinking of ways to give Leighton a different look,” said Chad.  “She is so beautiful that she looks most amazing to me when her hair is “lived in” looking!”

HOW-TO STEPS

Step 1:  Leighton came to set with dry mostly dry hair.  To prep her hair I used Oscar Blandi’s Volumizing Spray and my trusty CHI Rocket Blow Dryer and medium round brushes to set her hair. I would use 2 or 3 at a time to section the hair and used them like rollers..

Step 2:  I used single-track, clip-in hair extensions and used two rows in u-shaped sections to fill in the added length and curled the ends with a one inch curling iron.

Step 3:  After each curl I would lightly pull at the hair to create a distressed curl making the look lived in and sexy.

Finish:  I used just a few drops of Oscar Blandi’s Olio di Jasmine Hair Serum and vigorously rubbed my hands together to heat the product so it would be just a sheer coating for gloss purposes.  I finished the look by roughing up the hair by rubbing it between my hands.
