On The Set: Chad Baker Strahan and Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey recently shot for the cover of Redbook and Charles “Chad” Baker Strahan from RARE Salon in NYC was on the set to get this diva looking divine! “Being able to work with Mariah has been such an honor and experience of a lifetime,” exclaimed Strahan.  “I get to travel the world and visit places that I never have before! I am creating memories that I truly cherish and will remember forever; it is absolutely amazing.”  Chad walks us through the steps he used to give Mariah the look your clients will be begging you to recreate.

HOW-TO STEPS

    Styling Step 1: To start things off, Chad used his CHI Rocket Blow-dryer to blow out Mariah’s hair.  He used a round brush to smooth the strands and give the hair some added oomph.

    Styling Step 2:  After the blow-out, Chad placed a few rollers on top of her head and let those set for just a few minutes.

    Styling Step 3:  As the rollers set, Chad warmed up the rest of her hair and began curling sections with his Gold N Hot 24k Gold Coated Professional ¾” Spring Iron.

    Final Styling Step:  After curling the hair, he removed the rollers and polished the hair with a volumizing spray.  As he was spraying, Chad loosened up the curls with his fingers to create a soft, tousled curl look.  Great work Chad!
