Create an irregular triangle shaped section, incorporating the crown area and natural partings.
At the side area create a teardrop shape working from the top crown area to behind the ear. Repeat on the opposite side.
Working on the opposite side start two inches back from the front and create a zig-zag parting, working diagonally forwards to meet the recession. Put on protective gloves.

From mid-crown take a profile parting and begin to apply Formula 1. Continue the application taking vertical sections and working towards the ears. Repeat this process on the opposite side.
Continue with Formula 1 and apply to the mid-lengths and ends working upwards to the crown.
Apply Formula 1 to the top section. Lay the hair onto a TIGI copyright©olour meche strip and apply Formula 1 to the mid-lengths and ends.
Release the tear drop section, and take one diagonal back section and one diagonal forward section to create a V shape at the ear. Start with the slice behind the ear.

Apply Formula 1 to the first two inches of hair starting at the scalp. Next apply Formula 2 to the mid-lengths and ends and smudge into the previous colour to create a seamless blend.
On the second slice apply Formula 1 from the hair at the scalp to the ends, using TIGI copyright©olour meche strips to isolate each section. Continue taking slices in the same way, however alternating the colours at the mid-lengths and ends.
Work with the same technique on the opposite side of the head. Bend the TIGI copyright©olour meche strips away from the face and secure gently with a TIGI pro sectioning clip. (Note that where single slices are used the section will become smaller.)
Separate the remaining two frontal sections with a zig-zag parting. Block colour the first section using Formula 1 from the scalp through to the ends. Use a TIGI copyright©olour.
