Long-Haired Pomp

When she needs a style that’s one part sexy and one part subtle, this long-haired pomp is always a good idea. Here’s how Michael Shaun Corby, Living Proof Global Creative Director, created it for his client and you can recreate it for yours.

    On clean, damp hair, spray Restore Perfecting Spray from roots to ends. Then, apply Timeless Plumping Mousse and style using a comb-over, blow-dry technique to prep your client.

    Start the style by creating a section from the crown to the recession point (just above the occipital) and section off with a chop stick.

    Create side sections.

    Section back the remaining hair with a loose band. (This will be released later.)

    Backbrush the back sides of both side panel sections.

    Smooth and secure both side panels with two connected elastics. Be sure to loop each elastic on both sides an equal amount of times.

    Backbrush the crown section in ½-inch subsections, then smooth the top layer with Style Lab Flex Shaping Hairspray. Pin section for extra hold.

    Remove the bottom elastic and unify the crown section and bottom section by smoothing together.

    Finish with Control Hairspray for hold, then Restore Instant Protection to polish.
