How To: Add Volume to Fine, Thinning Hair

It’s not easy when a client sits in your chair and the first thing you notice is her fine, thinning locks. But as her stylist, there are plenty of things you can do to add weight, fullness and texture to her hair to create the illusion of voluminous, more dimensional strands. Try these tricks and give her a look she’ll love!

HOW-TO STEPS

  • 1

Start by applying Women’s ROGAINE® to the roots. Massage foam gently into scalp focusing on areas where hair regrowth is needed.

  • 2

Apply mousse to give hair volume. This helps build the root and strengthen the base for added fullness.

  • 3

Blow-dry using a round brush, concentrate heat at the root and with the temperature set on low.

  • 4

Using a 2-inch-barrel curling iron, curl the top of the hair back and the sides down, pinning as you go.

  • 5

Unpin, then brush gently. Smooth curls to create beautiful, loose waves. Finish with medium-hold hairspray.
