Half-Up/Half-Down Braid from Joico
The holiday season is the time to make your clients truly shine. By starting with a simple braid, Joico Glam Expert Katie Bilovol was able to create a stunning half-up/half-down braided ‘do—perfect for a quick and elegant welcome that is sure to impress their holiday guests! Loosely styled waves (thanks to a few simple twists of a curling iron) lend a casual note; while some simple plaiting and bobby-pinning turn a back braid into its very own holiday halo.
This holiday episode, along with several other, are available each week through mid-December on www.joico.com.

HOW-TO STEPS
-
1
To set a foundation, apply Joico Power Whip to wet hair and blow-dry. Create loose waves wrapped around a 1-inch curling iron.
-
2
Work in Joico Instant Refresh to absorb any extra oils, and leave hair shiny. Make a center part and take soft sections backcombing at the crown to create volume.
-
3
Separate the sides from the top of the head, parting right behind the ear on both sides.
-
4
Pick the entire side part and create a very loose braid, braiding towards the back. Repeat on the opposite side. Loop ends of braids into a clear elastic rubber band.
-
5
Take one braid and wrap it very low to the head, creating a crown effect on the back.
-
6
Take bobby pins and crisscross to secure the end of the braid to the opposite side of the hair. Repeat with the opposite braid.
