Full Spectrum Blonde from John Paul Mitchell Systems

From icy cool to neutral to warm, this blonding technique from the new Paul Mitchell Origami Collection blends a variety of tones for a different approach to lightening. Rather than lifting her model, Paul Mitchell Artistic Team Member, Linda Yodice, adds color back in to create warmth and subtle dimension while skill keeping the hair light, bright and beautifully blonde.

Shampoo and condition with Paul Mitchell Color Protect® Post-Color Shampoo and Paul Mitchell Color Protect® Daily Conditioner or Paul Mitchell Color Protect® Reconstructive Treatment if necessary. Blow-dry the hair.

Divide the head into four segments, slightly off-center at the front hairline to the center nape, from the crown to the front of each ear. Clip away for control. Start on the front, right side, taking a vertical, diagonal back section that is parallel to the hairline. Slice out the section and underlay with a piece of foil.

Divide the hair into two sections. Apply Formula B to one of the sections of hair, placing the brush at a slight diagonal at the scalp. Feather through all the way to the ends. On the same piece of foil on the second section of hair, apply Formula C.

Slice a diagonal back section and place the hair on a foil. Spray Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist® in a 1/4-inch ribbon at the scalp to diffuse and soften Formula D. Next, apply Formula D with the brush at an angle, and feather through areas that need to be lightened.

Continue up the segment until you reach the top slice. The top slice should end almost parallel to the center parting, and the foil folded square.
