Essenza Transformation Peach Sable Highlights from Alfaparf Milano

Reinvent the art of subtle blending, turning a simple highlight into a multifaceted effect using the Essenza technique. This peach sable hue from Alfaparf Milano is an alternative to the classic golden highlight—combining a copper and violet mixture, which when blended creates a more contemporary feel. The finished color has more warmth and depth, giving it a more modern look. The Essenza coloring technique is also ideal for straight or wavy hair styles. With this technique color merges and changes the hair, adding multidimensional tones to bring about a subtle, yet luxurious change.

HOW-TO STEPS

  • 1

    Color Formulas
    Formula 1: 1 oz. 7.1 Medium Ash Blonde + 1 ½ oz. 20-volume Oxid’o
    Formula 2: 1 oz. 6.4 Dark Copper Blonde + 1 oz. 7.21 Medium Violet Ash Blonde + 3 oz. 30-volume Oxid’o
    Formula 3: 1 oz. 8.4 Light Copper Blonde + 1 oz. 10.21 Extra Light Violet Ash Blonde + 3 oz. 40-volume Oxid’o

Take a horizontal section of the nape of the neck approximately 1 ½ inches (3 cm) above the hair line.

  • 2

Weave across the section. The weave should have distinct strands of the hair with defined spaces between them. Apply Formula 1 (7.1 + 20-volume Oxid’o) from roots to ends.

  • 3

Lift the first foil and weave the hair directly between the weave and the foil above. Apply Formula 2 (6.4 + 7.21 + 30-volume Oxid’o) from the midlengths to ends of the hair.

  • 4

Lift foil two away and weave directly between the weave and the foil below. Apply Formula 3 (8.4 + 10.21 + 40-volume Oxid’o) only to the ends of the hair.

  • 5

Repeat these three foils in 1 ½-inch (3 cm) intervals working up the head. When you reach the ears, wrap the sections around the head in a horseshoe shape.

  • 6

When you reach the top of the head, leave a fine veil of the hair uncolored at the parting, this will create a soft finished effect.
