Apply Formula 1 around the top section. Take horizontal sections from the crown area, working the hair back and away from the face until this section is complete. Continue with vertical sections applying Formula 1 from the radial parting to front of the hairline.

Release the first section taking fine slices, apply Formula 1 to the new growth area using a smudging technique to blend equal parts of Formula 2 to the mid-lengths and ends. Taking fine sections continue with this process until the first section is complete.

At the centre section continue in the same way, taking fine slices, using Formula 1 at the root area and using a smudging technique to blend in the lightest shade, Formula 3 to mid-lengths and ends.
