Sultry, Red Carpet Waves

Apply Joico Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo to damp hair to create texture and “grip,” then rough-dry the hair. 

Once the hair is dry, apply Joico Texture Boost Dry Spray Wax at the root, and direct the roots upward with heat using your dryer to lock in volume and support.

Next, divide the hair into vertical sections. Mist each section with NEW Joico Iron Clad Thermal Protectant Spray, to keep hair protected for curling. 

Begin working in the bottom sections, inserting a 1-inch Marcel iron on a diagonal at the top of the section, and curling the hair. 

Continue across the bottom in this manner, misting each section with Iron Clad, and alternating the direction of the curls—forward and backward—for a natural-looking wave pattern. 

As work progresses upward, switch to a 1¼-inch iron for a looser wave. Omitting the ends, release the iron from each curl and allow them to remain intact until the entire head is curled and the hair cooled. Then gently smooth and flick the ends upward with a curling iron.

Next, mist the hair with NEW Joico Flip Turn Volumizing Finishing Spray for long-lasting volume and hold, then flip the hair over and re-mist with Flip Turn. 

Re-section the hair, misting the roots with Flip Turn and gently backcomb each section. 

Gently rake through the lengths with your fingers and the end of a tail comb in order to blend the waves, while keeping the curl pattern intact. 

Finally, mist the hair with Joico Humidity Blocker to repel frizz and flyaways on the red carpet, and finish with NEW Joico Gold Dust Shimmer Finishing Spray for a pop of light-reflecting, A-list shine!
