We spotted twists all over New York Fashion Week this year, and that’s exactly why we’re dishing out this modern update on the classic, romantic updo—a French twist secured into an edgy, embellished ponytail. We’re breaking it down step-by-step, so you can master this styling technique just in time for the holiday season. Check it out below!
Starting on dry hair, apply Moroccanoil® Dry Texture Spray at the root.
Working in 1-inch sections, apply Moroccanoil® Volumizing Mousse from roots to ends—this will help create a strong and malleable foundation. Then, blow-dry the hair.
Apply Moroccanoil® Treatment Light and Mending Infusion to the ends for a silky finish.
Using a teasing brush, backcomb sections to start creating the structure. Then, insert bobby pins in a vertical line at the center-back of the head from the nape to the occipital.
Use a teasing comb and wrap the hair over the pinned foundation to create a French twist. Pin the twist into place and leave the ends out at the bottom for a ponytail.
Then, secure into a ponytail at the nape and embellish with a gold clamp to give the finished look an edgy update.
