Think Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast Cancer Awareness Month has become a staple of October, inspiring everyone from football players to school teachers and hairdressers to “think pink.” Todd Kane, a Matrix artistic educator, created this pink shade in support of cancer awareness and Love Out Lavender, an initiative that challenges hairstylists to tap into their creativity and passion for beauty to raise money for the City of Hope medical and research center.
“The ribbon for breast cancer is pink, so we took it from there. I kept the looks simple and used minimum products,” Todd admits. “I shot the photos myself and I opted to keep them raw and not retouched. When you think about it, the experience of cancer is raw, and I wanted to express that in my work.”
