Soft Pastel Balayage

We’re constantly keeping an eye on Norfolk, England stylist Jaymz Marsters (@jaymz.marsters), who always seems to be on top of creative color trends. One of his most recent creations infuses soft candy, lavender and mint with a smoky silver base. We’re obsessed! Here’s how he did it.

COLOR FORMULAS 
FORMULA STEPS
1. Prelighten the midlengths and ends using Formula A. Process at room temperature until a Level 8 is achieved.
2. Using a fresh mixture of Formula A, apply to the root area, and process until a Level 10 is achieved throughout the whole head.
3. Rinse, and apply a mixture of Olaplex No.2 and Fanola No Yellow Shampoo for 10 minuets.
4. Apply Formula B throughout the root area, blending any harsh lines. Melt through to the ends throughout the back to just above the occipital bone. Follow this through to the sides (1 inch above the ears).
5. Taking small, weaved sections, apply Formulas C, D and E throughout the head. After each weave, apply Formula B to the dropped pieces to create a softer look.
Tip: For a stronger look, apply two weaved sections back to back around the hairline with your chosen formula.
6. Process for 45 minutes at room temperature, and rinse in cold water with a color-preserving shampoo. Apply MoringapleX® Pre-Style Leave–In Spray and Design.ME PowerDry.ME, and style as desired. Jaymz finished with Head Shine by Fudge.
