And the Most Requested Color Formula of the Week is…
…this deep, dimensional scarlet from Schwarzkopf Professionals for their Hippi Glam presentation at the Essential Looks event in Calgary, Canada. At first, the color started off as dark brown, so SKP Essential Looks Stylist, Michelle Oliver, and SKP North American Colour Director, Rossa Jurenas reinvented an old-school technique to lighten up and blend multi-tonal colors throughout the model’s hair—the Tie-Dye Technique! All they needed was a Kiss Sponge and a balayage board. Why should you use the sponge instead of the color brush? First off, it’s different from balayage and requires different tools. The sponge allows for faster application resulting in a softer more dimensional color blend. The sponge goes on the hair smooth—no matter how fast you apply color—and saturates the hair, preventing re-application, as one would do with a color brush. “But,” Rossa adds, “don’t go too slow, or else you might leave a line of demarcation.”
