Lana Del Rey’s Timeless Brunette
Cult favorite singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey graced the 66th Grammy Awards with a trending “French girl” brunette hair color by celebrity colorist Jacob Schwartz (@jacobschwartzhair). At first glance the seemingly all-over color embodies a timeless brunette, but the rich color illuminates tonal variations under the Hollywood lights. “I do her roots pretty frequently, but we don’t always color the full head. This way the ends will end up looking lighter, almost naturally,” Jacob shares.
Demi VS. Permanent Color: Which To Choose
Jacob says that because Lana is a natural blonde, root touch-ups for his “Sultry, Timeless Rich Brown” happen every two to three weeks. “If you’re coloring naturally light hair like Lana, use a demi-permanent color. If you use permanent, the line of demarcation is really intense when it grows out,” he advises. “With demi-permanent, the color fades off more naturally, buying you more time in between appointments.”
