Your blonde balayage clients want to look like they spent the past six hours under the sun, NOT in the salon—so give them a naturally sun-kissed blend like this painted golden dimension by BTC Team Member and balayage expert Farhana Premji (@xo.farhana.balayage).
Farhana is breaking down her signature painting technique, color placement tips and the formulas you need to achieve a beachy blonde with pops of brightness below. Then, snag holiday styles that will accentuate multi-tonal haircolor color!
2. Before the lightening process, section the hair into quadrants. Working in 2-inch subsections, apply Moroccanoil®️ Color Complete ChromaTech PRIME evenly from roots to ends.
3. Then, use a wide-tooth comb to evenly distribute the leave-in treatment, priming the hair and scalp for the lifting process.
4. Starting in the back, take shallow diagonal sections and apply Formula A to build the blend but keep dimension throughout.
Pro Tip: Black hole toward the back of the head? If all of the lightness is sitting on top, start the balayage application in the back. This will balance the lightness around the front for a more natural-looking effect and seamless color blending.
5. Continue the same balayage technique applying Formula A toward the hairline. Process everything for 40 minutes, then rinse.
6. Then, apply Formula B on Zone 1 and 2, process for 10 minutes and rinse.
7.Apply Formula C all over to tone and process for 12 minutes.
8. Rinse and wash the hair with Moroccanoil®️ Color Continue Shampoo for optimal haircolor retention and instant repair.
9. Towel-dry the hair, then apply a generous amount of Moroccanoil®️ Color Complete ChromaTech POST from roots to ends. Process for 5 minutes, rinse thoroughly and blow-dry. Style beachy waves and lightly crimp the hair for added texture.
