A true artist behind the chair, Chereen Monet @yourhairsbestfriend of Fox and Jane Salon @foxandjane in New York City knows to always do you own thing— and she did just that! Her client came to her looking for a bold change and she was inspired by the oh-so-hot galaxy hair she had seen. “I told her I wanted to do my own take on it for curly/afro hair texture,” Chereen shared. “That’s when I thought of “Fun-Fetti” hair. I wanted to have jewel tones throughout her hair and make it very bold and attention-grabbing.” See how it’s done!

 

Pricing:
Chereen charged $425 for the full-head highlight, the pastel tones and the haircut.

FORMULA STEPS

1. Stretch and detangle the curls before application for a full-effect. Balayage with Formula A  in small 1-inch sections, starting at the back and going up around the head. Process to yellow or pale yellow.

 

2. Rinse, apply Olaplex and then shampoo. Towel-dry hair then tone with Formula B for 15 minutes to reach an ash tone, removing any remaining warmth.  

 

3. Blow-dry the hair with a flat brush before cutting it dry.

 

4. Start at back of head, rotating Formulas C,D,E and F as dry balayage highlights. Then process for 30 minutes.  

 

5. Apply R+Co One Prep, Twister and Aircraft to dripping wet hair and curly style client at the sink. Next, ask the client to shake out curls to create separation; then diffuse. Last, apply Tinsel once hair is dry.
