FORMULA STEPS

1. Start by applying Formula A throughout the base and Formula B from the midlengths to the ends. Process for 30 minutes to let the hair lift and tone at the same time. “It’s essential to retain the moisture in high textured hair, especially when achieving high blonde levels,” notes Rachel. “So the color was processed under a hair steamer (hydration machine).”

Note: Rachel used a hair steamer during every application processing time.

2. Rinse, then slice and weave each section, apply Formula C and let process in foils until she lifts to the desired level of blonde. To protect the integrity of the hair, Rachel says do not lock in the foils and don’t use added heat to speed up the processing time.

3. Root smudge with Formula D, then gloss everything with Formula E to neutralize the brass.

4. Shampoo with MIZANI Strength Fusion Strengthening & Repairing Shampoo to strengthen her just lightened strands and to protect her curls from heat styling.

5. Since this client has textured hair that hasn’t been thermal styled in over a year, Rachel followed with MIZANI Thermasmooth Shampoo and Conditioner.

6. Next, apply MIZANI True Textures Moroccan Clay Steam Mask to treat the hair to maximum moisture retention, then rinse, blow-dry and style as desired.
