Shear Genius Season 2 Finale Party Pics

A season finale is not a finale without a party.  So on August 27, 2008, Shear Genius contestants, judges, friends and family members gathered at the Tribeca Grand Hotel to see the season off with a festive farewell and a big giant check.

Jaclyn Smith, Rene Fris, Denise (Dee) Adames, Charlie Price, Nicole Obert, Daniel Lewis, Glenn Mitchell and Gail Soifer, along with special guests Nexxus Editorial Director Roy Teeluck and Nick Arrojo (Nicole’s boss) were on hand, enjoying cocktails and conversation.  They were joined by approximately 100+ people who were eagerly awaiting the Nexxus Locks of Love Challenge.

Since the hair care company has an ongoing relationship with Locks of Love, they decided to stage one last battle among the Final Three—Dee, Charlie and Nicole–and at the same time, promote the Locks hair donation program.  Each finalist had 20 minutes to cut and style a woman who had volunteered to donate her hair to children suffering medical hair loss.  (One common condition is alopecia, which we witnessed in the Episode 5 challenge in Season 2.)  Jaclyn, Roy Teeluck and the president of Locks of Love, Madonna Coffman, judged the styles, and after much deliberation, Dee was chosen as the winner of the challenge.

After the challenge, party guests noshed on lump crab cakes with a remoulade sauce, mini mac and cheese, buttermilk battered shrimp and mini pressed Reuben sandwiches in anticipation of the Shear Genius Season 2 finale.  Family members, close friends and acquaintances sat on the edge of their seats, much like they have throughout the entire season, as the competition came down to the wire.  The crowd went crazy when Dee was named the Season 2 Shear Genius, and she received a victory hug from her adorable mom.

Closing out the evening, Dee received a giant, $100,000 BRAVO TV/Shear Genius grand prize check that would make Ed McMahon and the Publishers Clearing House proud.  Congrats Dee Adames.  Your talent and hard work were Shear Genius.
