NYC Hot Spot Salon Launches a New Color Technology

close formula

Hair colorists and stylists Victoria Hunter and Larry Raspanti, owners of acclaimed NYC-based salon and emerging beauty brand Whittemore House, introduce their creation of the Whittemore House Hair Paint (Lightening Powder). The unique Italian-bred product uses secret ingredient intelligent crystals, which deliver haircolor lift without the damaging effects of traditional bleach. As pioneers of some of the most popular coloring techniques used today, Victoria and Larry developed this new bleach to take their technique even further, and with the intention of continuously establishing a new standard for haircolor.

According to the brand, the product is the first of its kind, and eliminates the use of the additional time-consuming and expensive conditioning treatments due to its all-natural ingredients and molecules that transform into untraditional powder forms. These intelligent crystals are derived from anti-aging skincare technology and are now being used in haircare for the very first time; they form a bond encapsulating each and every strand of hair, protecting it throughout the entire color service, and strengthening it at the cellular level. The result is an innovative, more efficient and safer process for the customer and colorist.

“As colorists, we feel so much more confident in our techniques using a product that reveals this level of softness and condition from bleaching,” says Larry.

The development of this unique coloring process began at their former positions at Bumble & bumble, where Victoria served as a color director. From there, the duo opened Whittemore House in the West Village in 2009 with an emphasis on building lasting client relationships through innovative hair cutting and coloring. They have solidified their talents and the WH brand as a go-to for hair painting and training, providing not only a destination, but a worldwide education academy for technicians.

Most recently, their work and revolutionary new product can be seen on the S/S17 runway for Alexander Wang, where Victoria and Larry bleached 18 models in a record time of two days–a seemingly impossible feat (some girls needed five applications!) made possible with the development of their new Whittemore House Hair Paint. Other notable clients range from worldwide tours with U2, Muse and Maroon 5, to the forefront of fashion with clients such as Guido Palau and Marc Jacobs.
