Here Are The Best Beauty Moments From The 2023 Golden Globes

After a one-year hiatus, the Golden Globes returned to Los Angeles to celebrate the best performances in television and film. While we’re sure the nominations were great, we set our sights on the hair (of course!). This year’s red carpet trend: effortless styles and low maintenance looks and we couldn’t be happier!

Keep scrolling (and stopping) for the best looks we spotted and don’t miss our pro tips and tricks for recreating these looks on your clients!

1. Jenna Ortega

Certifying herself as 2023’s IT-girl, the “Wednesday” star—and Golden Globe nominee—donned a Gucci gown for her Golden Globes red carpet debut. Celeb stylist David Stanwell (@davestanwell) used Fekkai to style her short shag into an effortlessly flipped style (curtain bangs included.)

2. Quinta Brunson

“Abbot Elementary” star, writer and producer Quinta Brunson took the Golden Globe home for Best Actress in a Comedy Series—but her mermaid gown by Christian Siriano and sleek, textured pony by celebrity stylist Alexander Armand (@alexander_armand) is what caught our eye.

“I used the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer and Dyson Corrale™ hair styler straightener to achieve the beautiful sleek ponytail and Undressed Hair Texturizing Spray from Hairstory on her ponytail to accentuate [her] texture, giving the finished look a soft, sexy full texture,” Alexander explained in a post on IG.

3. Rihanna

SURPRISE! New mom and icon Rihanna made a surprise appearance last night and the girls were SHOOK. Styled by longtime hairdresser Yusef Williams (@yusefhairnyc) bad girl Riri sported a sculpted, twisted updo inspired by Princess Leia and the film “Wakanda Forever” (which she was nominated for Best Original Song.)

4. Selena Gomez

There is nothing we love more than a high, luxe ponytail and actress Selena Gomez didn’t disappoint. Celeb stylist Marissa Marino (@marissa.marino) used a round brush from Olivia Garden to smooth the hair and finished with René Furterer products to secure the pony in place.

Here’s how Marissa did it:

  • Smooth the hair dry using a round brush. Then, apply René Furterer STYLE Holding Gel before pulling the hair into a high ponytail, leaving out the front bang area.
  • Next, curl the ponytail with a 1.25″ curling iron and spray STYLE Finishing Spray from René Furterer.
  • Bring the remaining hair back and secure with an elastic.
  • Apply René Furterer STYLE Shine Mist for extra shine.

Pro tip: Before styling, Marissa applied the Complexe 5 Stimulating Plant Concentrate from René Furterer as a pre-shampoo treatment. This product deeply cleanses and purifies the scalp to prep the hair for styling and helps achieve smooth, healthy results.

13. Ana de Armas

We almost didn’t recognize the “Blonde” star in her natural brunette locks (which we love by the way!) Celebrity stylist Jenny Cho (@jennychohair) prepped the hair using Sol de Janeiro Milky Leave-in Conditioner and achieved the smooth, tousled blowout using Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer and Corrale™ straightener. She finished the style with Sol de Janeiro Glossy Nourishing Oil to tame any frizz or flyaways.

Get the steps:

  • Prep by generously applying Milky Leave-in Conditioner to towel-dried hair.
  • Next, part the hair down the center using a tail comb and blow dry completely using the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer and round brush for a bouncy blowout.
  • Once the hair is completely dry, Jenny took a one-inch section across the nape and used the Dyson Corrale™ straightener to create a loose bend, working her way up to the front of the head.
  • Finish the style with a drop of Brazilian Glossy Nourishing Hair Oil to moisturize and tame flyaways.

Pro tip: For better control when blow-drying, Jenny recommends using the smoothing nozzle attachment from Dyson. “It is so precise. You have full control over the air and heat flow,” she explains.
