Celebrity Hairstylist Cesar Ramirez’s Tips For Using the L’Oréal Professionnel AirLight Pro
3 Tips for Using the Newly-Launched AirLight Pro Behind the Chair
The AirLight Pro is L’Oréal Professionnel’s first-ever blowdryer designed for professional stylists by professional stylists and features the industry’s latest innovations. The hairdryer officially launches October 1 in-store and online at SalonCentric. Ahead of the launch, BTC Editors attended the AirLight Pro’s launch event in New York City to chat exclusively with celebrity hairstylist and L’Oréal Pro Partner, Cesar Ramirez (@cesar4styles) about how the dryer can make stylists lives’ easier behind the chair.
Ready to add the AirLight Pro to your blowout arsenal? Read on for everything to know, how it works and its revolutionary technology.
Here’s how the AirLight Pro is different than other hairdryers:
While most hairdryers use convection heat, the AirLight Pro uses infrared light, air from its 17-blade high-speed motor and heat to dry the hair. This allows for reduced energy consumption, faster dry times and less damage.
“You can actually dry the hair in a way that you’re evaporating water out of it,” says Cesar. “When you’re evaporating the water, you’re drying the hair in a way so you’re not leaving it crunchy, dry, brittle and destroying the cuticle.”
Here’s a look at more details about the drying process:
Here’s what else to know about the dryer’s features:
- A 17-blade, high-speed motor that results in faster drying with reduced energy consumption.
- Two magnetic, auto-detect attachments:
- The concentrator: Designed for high-definition smoothing and precise styling.
- The diffuser: Designed to preserve natural curl patterns while defining curly and coily hair.
- A removable, cleanable already-mounted filter.
- A 11.5 feet-long power cord.
- The powerful motor delivers up to 130mph wind speed while remaining quiet.
- The lightweight design measures a total weight of 1.7lb.

Here’s how to create custom profiles for your clients on the AirLight Pro:
On the handle of the AirLight Pro is a built-in LCD screen with Bluetooth capabilities that connects to the AirLight Pro smartphone app. Here’s what to know about the app and how it can benefit both you and your clients:
- The app has pre-designed hair profiles that can be selected based on your clients’ hair types:
- The settings include Sleek, Curly, Coily and Volume profiles
- It also allows you to create customized hair profiles for clients
- For each hair profile, you can select the attachment, temperature and motor speed settings that suit their hair type
- In the app you can see the total number of hours you’ve used your AirLight Pro
- The app is available in both the Apple and Google Play stores but is not necessary for use.
“I’ve already started customizing my clients’ settings in the app,” shares Cesar. “So whether we’re working on a photoshoot or a red carpet [event], I just put it on their [profile] setting and it’s already ready for that particular client.”

What hair types is the AirLight Pro suited for? What to know:
Thanks to the AirLight Pro’s customizable settings and the infrared light technology, the dryer can really be used on all hair types. “I’ve found the dryer works great with all hair types as long as you’re customizing the settings,” says Cesar.
“The great thing is the dryer does the job for you, he continues. “If I’m going to diffuse curly hair and I put the diffuser on, it already changes the blowdryer to curly hair and it helps me as well in case I forget to change the settings.”
