#ONESHOT is All it Takes!
Behindthechair.com has created an entirely new hair awards competition called #ONESHOT, which celebrates the real world of hair today. The world has changed. No longer do we have to create entire hair collections and be nominated to an awards show for them to be seen. Today, social media has allowed hairdressers to share their work and be celebrated One Shot at a time. Here at BTC, we believe a new hair awards program that celebrates transparency of work, submitted in an open forum for everyone to see (and not behind a closed firewall), is a progressive awards concept that is long overdue. Our program #ONESHOT is a hair competition with two different segments of categories. #HotShot offers 17 categories and celebrates the real hair being done behind the chair. #BigShot has six categories and celebrates the editorial hair work being done in studios.
Think you have what it takes to be a Hot Shot?
It’s all about raw talent, baby. Who needs a studio, Photoshop and filters when you’re killing it behind the chair every single day? The Hot Shot competition celebrates the real hair behind the chair that you’re doing every day. Think you’ve got the best shot? Submit your work for a chance to be published in BTC’s inaugural #btconeshot book and BTC’s magazine. Winners will also receive a COLOR, Cut & Style swag bag featuring products from our esteemed sponsors.
To enter, upload your best photos to Instagram, and tag the photos with the category hashtags above. You may enter as many photos as you’d like for any or all of the categories. There’s no entry fee, and no other rules!
Nine finalists in each category will be selected. Four shots will be chosen by BTC and judged purely on the quality of the work (for those of you who don’t have a bazillion followers on Instagram). Want to build your Instagram? Hot Shot provides an opportunity to show off your work to tens of thousands of hairdressers, thereby building up your followers. Have you ever dreamed of getting your work published? BTC will publish the top nine photos in each of the 17 categories in our “On Paper” magazine.
