6 Hair Moments You Have To See From Miss USA 2017

Miss USA is known for its glitz, glamour and exciting hair moments. So when we got our invite to cover the weekend-long competition, we packed our bags for Vegas and prepared ourselves for a weekend of hairspray, extensions, tiaras and ball gowns!

For more than a decade, Farouk Systems, Inc. has sponsored the event and you can bet their CHI Haircare team created some amazing styles. Here are the six Miss USA hair moments you have to see!

1. District of Columbia’s Au Naturale Hair!

CHI stylist Albert Ruiz walked us through how to embrace Miss USA 2017 Kára McCullough’s texture by defining her curls while maintaining volume at the root. He preps by spraying CHI Magnified Volume Spray at the roots, then massages it into the hair using his first finger and thumb. Watch the next step below!

2. Faux Bob How-To

This faux bob is perfect for your clients who want to rock short locks,
but don’t want to commit to a big chop.

For the preliminaries, Farouk Global Artist Anna Cantu gave BFF and Miss Teen USA 2016 Karlie Hay a textured faux bob, and we filmed the how-to LIVE on Facebook!

3. The Return of Crimped Hair

This crimping iron is giving us all the ’90s vibes and we don’t hate it one bit!

The ‘90s are back in style! The hit tool during this year’s Miss USA was the CHI Onyx 1-inch Ceramic Crimping Iron because it adds volume and texture to the root. Anna says she also uses the tool to prep the hair before adding extensions to give the extra hair some “umph.”

4. Hollywood Glam—Vegas Edition!

5. A Behind The Scenes Sneak Peek

When you have 12 stylists for 51 beauty queens, organized chaos ensues.

At an event like Miss USA, the hair magic happens behind the scenes, and we got VIP backstage access! Twelve CHI stylists were equipped to style 51 beauty queens, so you know there was pandemonium as stylists worked quickly to ensure everyone was curled, set and finished on time.

6. Red Carpet Stunners
