1. Textured Updo For Curly-Haired Clients by Lala Chihaia (@lalasupdos)

Lala’s Tips For This Style:
- If she doesn’t have naturally curly hair, the secret to creating natural-looking curls is to use a 3.8″ curling iron on thicker sections. If the sections are too thin, you’ll end up with very small, tight curls.
- To keep the curls intact, curl the hair in a bricklay pattern. This way, there won’t be any demarcation lines AND there will be no need for teasing/backcombing.
- Always brush the product into the hair before curling it, otherwise the hairspray will end up being burned onto the barrel of the curling iron and the curls won’t last.
- To add a little bit of volume at the root, overdirect each section at the crown area while curling.

2. Twisted Bun by Christi Piontkowski (@knoxvillebridalhair)

Christi’s Tips For This Style:
- Creating twists in the crown area with tied knots for the bun (instead of tightly curling the whole head) can help create visual texture while saving time.
- Use straight pins to temporarily map out the shape of the style. Once you’re happy with it, secure it in place with bobby pins.
- Alternate working from the left and the right sides to create visual balance.
- It’s important to smooth flyaways as you work for a polished end result while also adding texture for volume and fullness. Christi applies amika Thicc Volumizing Base every time she starts on a new twisted section, then she’ll apply amika Vandal Volume Powder Spray when creating the bun to ensure it lasts all night.
