3 Ways To Keep Her Color Cool For The Summer

close formula

Blondes love their cool, ashy shades, but did you know cool tones can be used on any haircolor AND they can refine the overall end result? Redken recently launched their Cool Fashion Collection, a line that’s joining the Color Fusion family and is complete with 14 new shades. To celebrate the launch, they took to their Redken Exchange in New York City to showcase three ways you can take a regular color and amp it up.

Quick Tip: Instead of shying away from permanent color when working on the natural redheads in your chair, opt for the Cool Fashion Collection instead. These new cool shades mute warm undertones, helping you avoid hot roots completely.

2. How-To: Crisp Champagne Blonde

Before and after

Quick Tip: For a softer end result, work in diagonal sections and start by applying 10GV further away from the scalp first (about 2 inches from the root). Then, go in at an angle and inch closer to the root.

3. How-To: Refined Brunette

Before and after

The key is creating two formulas that are so subtly different, no one would be able to tell that you used two formulas. For this refined brunette how-to, Redken Artist Ryan Morgan alternated between 4AB + 10-volume developer and 5VA + 2N + 10-volume developer.
