3 Summer Styles & Quick Tips For Each!

What’s the saying? “Sun’s out, braids out!” OK so maybe WE say that but honestly shouldn’t everyone? Summer is here and we have some quick summer-ready styles that your clients can take with them anywhere! Moroccanoil® Artistic Team Member Alaina Montgomery (@alainamontgomery) broke down each style and shared a quickie tip for each! Scroll down for each look!

We’re All About That Prep

Prep the hair by applying Moroccanoil® Dry Shampoo at the base in about 1-inch sections. Then, spray Moroccanoil® Perfect Defense heat protectant from mid-ends.

1. Beachy Waves

1. Use a 1 ¼-inch curling iron and curl the entire head. Use diagonal partings for the curl sections to ensure the curls fall organically and have a more tousled vibe.
2. Spray Moroccanoil® Dry Texture Spray and brush out.
3. Finish with Moroccanoil® Strong Hold Hairspray.

TIP ALERT: For more volume at the root, rotate your wrist once all the way around, creating a gentle twist at the base.

2.Bubble Pony

1. Curl the hair with a 1 ¼-inch curling iron using diagonal partings for a more natural look. Use small elastics to create loose ponytails down the center of the head.
2. Take a small section of hair from the back of each pony and wrap around to hide the elastic.
3. Gently pull the ponytails apart using your thumb and index finger.
4. Finish with Strong Hold Hairspray and apply Moroccanoil® Mending Infusion to the ends.

TIP ALERT: If the small elastic is too big, twist it around a few times with your finger after placing the ponytail inside. This will shorten the elastic but still allow the pony to be pulled apart.

3.Side-by-Side Braided Pony

1. Take a zigzag part down the center of the entire head.
2. Create two three-strand braids bringing the ends together and secure with an elastic at the nape.
3. Use your thumb and index finger to gently pull the braids apart for a fuller style.
4. Finish with Strong Hold Hairspray.

TIP ALERT: When pulling out the braids, only grab one-third of the hair on the outside of each weave. The remaining hair in the center will serve as an anchor all the way down the braid so the style will be durable and last until that beach sunset.
