2 Rich Mocha Brunette Color Formulas

NYC-based colorist David Stanko agrees and says it’s key to supplement the shade descriptions with visuals so you’re both on the same page before you begin. A favorite brunette shade among top colorists—mocha! Here are two formulas for creating the rich, luscious shade on your client.

Natural level:
5/50% gray
Formula A: Redken Cover Fusion 1 ¾ oz. 7NGi + 5NGi + 20-volume developer. Apply to new growth.
Formula B: Redken Shades EQ equal parts 09NB + 09G + Processing Solution. Glaze midlengths and ends.

Formula A: Matrix SoColor 1 oz. 6M + 1 oz. 10-volume developer
Formula B: Matrix SoColor 1 oz. 6M + 1 oz. 20-volume developer
Formula B: Matrix SoColor 1 oz. 7M + 1 oz. 10-volume developer
Formula D: Matrix SoColor 1 oz. 7M + 1 oz. 20-volume developer

 

Application: Create an irregular horseshoe-shaped from eye-to-eye, around the top of the head. Apply Formula A to new growth in the bottom section and Formula B to midlengths and ends. Apply Formula C to new growth in the top section and Formula D to midlengths and ends.
