SPOTTED: Creative Color On The Runway! Get The Formulas From Marc Jacobs FW18
THIS JUST IN! Creative color hit the Marc Jacobs FW18 runway at NYFW and we couldn’t be more excited. Catwalks typically cater to the clothes, with hair and makeup only enhancing the designer’s overall collection—but this season, Marc’s retro, neon bobs stole the show. Here is what Redken Global Color Creative Director Josh Wood said about the look and about working with Marc and lead stylist Redken Global Creative Director Guido Palau.
“The colors were very ’80s and ’90s-inspired. We wanted the girls to look like they were lit in a nightclub, so there were a lot of neon and strobe lighting in our references. These looks are all about skill, precision and placement. Knowing exactly where to place color to emphasize those haircuts is key for these looks. We worked very closely with Marc on the textures and colors of the fabrics to make sure this all came together. We wanted to see a reflection of the haircolor in the fabric and vice-versa. We’ve created a character for each girl. No two colors are the same. They’re all bold, big and individual statements,” said Josh.
