“As an industry leader and innovator, it’s a blessing in my career to get the chance to work with Wella artists, educators and industry professionals that inspire me,” shared Amy. Amy joins the Brand Ambassador team alongside Briana Cisneros (@brianacisneros), Ryan Weeden (@ryan.weeden), Zach Mesquit (@zachmesquit) and Patricia Nikole (@paintedhair).
Carole Protat, Senior Director Education said, “We’re delighted to welcome another powerful and dynamic female artist and industry leader to our impressive roster of brand ambassadors. Amy is a perfect fit for our Wella family, she brings a combination of industry experience, fresh perspective, and love for education to our team. We look forward to collaborating with Amy and continuing to elevate the craft together!”
Amy has loved using Wella color tools to create her signature balayage blends over the years, making this partnership a perfect fit. “I’ve been using Wella Professionals Blondor and Freelights for three years and have loved how much it’s changed my work behind the chair,” shares Amy. “The consistency of both lighteners makes my application effortless on my clients.”
How Social Media Has Influenced Amy’s Career
Amy emerged at the forefront of the balayage trend in 2016 and established herself as an innovator in the space. After hitting the 25-year mark in the industry working behind the chair as a salon owner, she felt her craft had become robotic. Balayage was a little-known trend and she was immediately drawn to the technique as she looked for a way to reignite her passion.
Learning how to utilize social media for education changed her entire career. Amy turned to YouTube and Instagram for education and inspiration. She continued to learn, perfect and improve on the service and has since adopted these social media platforms to share the dos and don’ts of balayage with the hairdresser community. Since then, Amy has gained a captive audience of more than 316K Instagram followers.

From Koleston Perfect and Illumina to Color Touch and a wide array of lighteners and toners, the brand has so many gorgeous shades to choose from and customize my clients’ color.”
