Grooming industry pioneer David Petersen has joined Luxury Brand Partners as the General Manager of men’s grooming line V76 by Vaughn. David will be working alongside Reuben Carranza, who was recently named President of V76 by Vaughn.

David is the co-founder of Rudy’s Barbershop, which opened its first location in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood in 1992 and now has nearly 20 locations in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles and New York City. When it launched, Rudy’s was a game-changer in male-focused salons, giving men high-quality services in environments suited to them and helping move along the modern-day barbershop resurgence. David sold Rudy’s in summer 2014.

Vaughn Acord, the established men’s groomer behind V76 whose client list includes Bruce Springsteen, Daniel Day Lewis, Tom Brady and President Bill Clinton, among others, is excited for the brand’s future. “V76 has had a remarkable first year, and I’m eager to work closely with David and Reuben to create even more high-performance products and innovative education for stylists, salons and consumers,” says Vaughn.

Tev Finger, President of Luxury Brand Partners, is thrilled to have the expertise of two industry veterans on the v76 team.  “With his 20 years of experience in the industry, David will provide us with an insider perspective into the grooming realm and be able to share his wealth of knowledge with our network,” says Tev. “Combined with the addition of seasoned executive Reuben as the brand’s president, I look forward to amazing things for V76.”

For his part, David is looking forward to diving back into men’s grooming. “V76 is a great brand that’s become a necessity in salons that service an increasingly more sophisticated male clientele,” he says. “I hope that my 25 years of experience will help take V76 to the next level in barbering and men’s grooming.”
