Ted Gibson & Jason Backe Open New Smart Salon—STARRING By Ted Gibson
Celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson (@tedgibson) and celebrity colorist Jason Backe (@jasonbacke) hosted a party on April 10 to celebrate the opening of their Los Angeles based salon, STARRING By Ted Gibson. It’s the world’s first smart salon to use cutting edge smart home technology, powered by Amazon’s Alexa. STARRING will exclusively features Goldwell haircare products in addition to Ted Gibson’s famous styling product, Shooting Star Texture Meringue.
Sandra Oh, Charlotte McKinney, Jasmine Tookes, Ashley Greene and more turned out to toast Ted and Jason on their salon opening. Located at 211 ½ South La Brea, the spacious 1,100 square foot salon was designed by visionary Francisco Gonzalez Pulido of the globally renowned, Chicago-based architecture firm FGP Atelier.
“STARRING is the culmination of our creative vision to provide consumers with a forward-thinking, multi-dimensional smart salon concept, premium product line and unprecedented luxury experience all in one,” shared Ted. Jason added, “We’re excited to finally reinvent the largely outdated hair and salon industry, and put forth a new, disruptive way of thinking.”
Guests nibbled on mini quiches, chouquettes and gourmet treats by famed baker La Tropézienne, the salon’s neighborhood bakery, while guests sipped on beverages from the bar sponsored by The Thirst Project. Attendees left with a goodie bag filled with products from STARRING, Goldwell, HUM Nutrition, compacts by Visionaries and Quarter.
