R+Co Adds Colorist Richy Kandasamy To The R+Co Collective

R+Co just announced colorist Richy Kandasamy (@richykanda) is the newest member of the R+Co Collective. Richy joins the R+Co family as the Haircolor Category Expert within the Collective, focused on product development, education and content creation.

Richy has been hands-on in the development of R+Co’s new SUNSET BLVD Blonde Toning Masque, designed to correct uninvited, dull, yellow hues while preventing color fading and brassiness for blondes, white and gray hair.

“I’m bringing a new perspective to the Collective—my passion, experience and creativity in color development and education mastery. I’m most excited to join R+Co because of the culture, vision and opportunity to develop great products with incredible innovation,” says Richy.

Richy will work alongside the co-founding members of the Collective: Garren Priano, Thom Priano and Howard McLaren, plus the most recent addition Ashley Streicher. The Collective combined makes up an influential think tank of top editorial and salon stylists plus educators, and R+Co is excited for Richy to build out and enhance the brand’s haircolor offering.

“The Collective brings together top stylists from across different disciplines to collaborate on products and education. By uniting different perspectives, we create something truly remarkable. Each product can be a hero because it is influenced by the person who is best-in-class in that category. Haircolor has always been a critical part of the looks we create—now we are bringing it front and center,” says Daniel Langer, R+Co President.

Born in the Seychelles Islands off the east coast of Africa, Richy found a passion for hairdressing at an early age and started cutting friends’ hair at just 13 in his backyard. He later moved to Florence, Italy, at age 18 where he discovered his love for haircolor. As his career progressed, Richy collaborated on global fashion weeks, editorials and advertising campaigns. He also spent 20 plus years with TIGI, where he helped develop and launch the brand’s color line, opened the first TIGI Academy and led color education for professional hairdressers across Europe and the Americas.

“Richy is a wonderful addition to the world we are building at R+Co where we have rich perspectives on all areas of hair,” says Tev Finger, Luxury Brand Partners President and CEO.
